Semi-evergreen fast growing tree 10m tall x 4m wide, best in damp soil. Frost tolerant. Trims well as a hedge, or can be used as a specimen or shade tree. Will grow in dry spots, but a lot slower. (GOOD FOR: DAMP, HEDGE, SHELTER, SPECIMEN, SUN, WIND)

| our experience | The most evergreen of the alders – they make a great hedge, but keep in mind they can grow big enough to mill for timber. Keeping them regularily trimmed helps keep their size down and their rootsystems less invasive. These grow really well in Auckland regions damp clay soils. |
