Medium to large sweet nuts ripening in early March, with nuts that fall free of the shell. Large tree to 10m. Self-fertile, although pollination assisted by another variety. Best in a sheltered site with good soil. (GOOD FOR: DRY, FOLIAGE, NUTS, SPECIMEN, SUN)
Good looking specimen tree, but don't plant too close to your house as they have stinky flowers in the late spring, and the nuts when they fall are horrible and prickly if planted in a lawn area!
