Our experience using these in the Auckland region:

One of my favorite native trees - very versitile, I often use them for along fences, and then uderplant them with Camellias, Japanese anemones, Star Jasmine, Gardenias, Nandinas. They can be trimmed. \r\nDon't plant them in a really coastal site - they still grow, but get very windburnt from salt winds.
