Our experience using these in the Auckland region:

We are still experimenting with Cider apples in the Auckland area - we haven't had huge crops yet on our young trees, but still hopefully of enough to make a batch of cider. From what I can see, planting a mix of varieties is important to get pollination happening between the varieties.
