Very similar to the Leyland Cypress, but is more resistant to Canker disease, and makes a dense hedge. Frost tolerant. Trims well if done regularly. Fast growing in a good soil. Grow to 10m+ tall (GOOD FOR: DRY, HEDGE, SHELTER, SPECIMEN, SUN, WIND)

Our experience using these in the Auckland region:

There are not many large fast shelter trees, and these are one. They handle most sites, but don't plant them anywhere wet in the winter. Trim them on a dry sunny day. While they are disease resistant, they can get some canker if prunned in damp rainy conditions.
