People are using this as an alternative to Griselinias, but it does have some issues as well. The list of issues are: The do get a bit knocked around by frosts. They need a well drained soil. They can get spider mites, which are hard things to kill. Not too good in really windy sites. Can suffer leaf drop if it gets stressed. Have I put you off? Hopefully not - they are still much more reliable than Griselinia. There are lots of really successful hedges particularly in urban areas. The secret is getting the site and soil right first.
