Our experience using these in the Auckland region:

This is David's favorite fig. Not the strongest tasting one, but sweet, juicy and mild. Give them some water in the summer and the fruit will be a lot bigger and juicer. Keep the tree size to around 2.5m so you get the fruit before the birtds. Figs are one of the few fruit trees that don't mind damper soils.
