Slug bait. Use lots of slug bait. Every 3-4 weeks sprinkle some around. If you don't they will look pretty tatty. If you forget, the good news is they die down a bit in the winter, so the new spring leaves come out lovely and fresh. They are really tough. But don't forget the slug bait.
