Dwarf Heavenly Bamboo 'Firepower'
Dwarf growing shrub to 70cm tall, with red leaves during the winter, and soft lime green new growth in spring. Frost tolerant. Looks great in big groups. (GOOD FOR: DRY, FOLIAGE, GROUNDCOVER, HEDGE, SEMI-SHADE)
Our experience using these in the Auckland region:
There are lots of Nandina varieties - this one has been around for 40+ years, and we think it is still one of the best. We like that the foliage changes colour throughout the year. We use these in big groups under trees in Kaipara Coast Sculpture Gardens, and provided the soil isn't too waterlogged they are really tough and long lived.
