Our experience using these in the Auckland region:

The leaves on these are huge. They are pretty tough, but for the best results make sure the soil is really crumbly. Thrips can be an issue in the autumn in warmer climates, making the leaves go a bit silvery. The flowers are more of a pale pink than a white.
