Our experience using these in the Auckland region:

Stunning tropical leaves. Berries for the birds, and once one of the rarest plants in NZ. They can be a bit prone to root rots in the Auckland region, so make sure the soil doesn't get too wet and use plenty of mulch or leaf litter around the trees.
